Album Release Celebration held at Asheville’s Isis Restaurant & Music Hall

Band_web.jpgASHEVILLE, NC – May 2, 2013 – Underhill Rose, the female trio known for impeccable harmonies and an ability to blend bluegrass, Americana, blues and soul into its trademarked “heartfelt country soul” sound, will launch its sophomore album, “Something Real,” Friday, May 31. An Album Release Celebration will be held at Isis Theater & Music Hall in Asheville, NC that night – show time is 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance for $10 at isisasheville.com or $12 at the door.

“Something Real” includes 13 tracks, with each member writing at least two songs, and features the familiar harmonies Underhill Rose has become known for, now filled out with a third female voice. Recorded in the famed Echo Mountain Recording Studio and with Black Lillies’ frontman Cruz Contreras serving as producer, the release features nine Asheville area musicians in addition to the ladies. The band recorded “Something Real” using money raised through a successful crowd-funding campaign, which generated donations from over 300 people. Following the 38-day push, the group had met 120 percent of the $15,000 goal.

Spring Break Tour

Posted on March 22, 2013 with 14 comments
It's been a long cold winter, but spring is here! It may have been long and cold, but the winter gave us time to finish the new album. We're moving toward the mastering stage and have decided to hit the road for a little change of scenery.
This should be a great trek. We start off tonight with a show in Asheville at Jack of the Wood, then we head to Knoxville to perform at Boyd's Jig and Reel. Two great venues in two wonderful towns! Then, you can look for us in Roanoke, Washington, D.C., Frederick and Annapolis. Call this our "Spring Break" tour.
We hope you have a chance to join us over the next week. It will give you a small preview of the new album and the chance to reminisce with familiar tracks from the Underhill Rose songbook. We've had a great start to 2013 and it keeps getting better.

We're in the studio!

A big thank you for your help in getting the word out about our New Album Campaign. As you know, we have been successfully funded, reaching 120 percent of our original $15,000 goal. We can't think of a better way to start 2013! Well, maybe the process of actually making the album falls in the somewhere, too.

We are in the studio this week. It's an exciting time and will mark Salley's first recording with Underhill Rose. We have been going through a number of pre-production meetings with Cruz Contreras, our producer and a member of The Black Lillies. Cruz has brought more to this project than we ever thought possible.
