Americana trio to appear on UNC-TV’s NC Now Friday, Dec. 14

ASHEVILLE, NC – Dec. 13, 2012 – Underhill Rose is asking fans to help them fund the making of a new album through crowd funding website Kickstarter. Donations can be made in exchange for rewards that include pre-release downloads, house concerts and voice or banjo lessons from one of the members. The campaign will conclude Saturday, Jan. 12 at 11:59 p.m., with the album being completed the following May.

“Our fans want a new Underhill Rose album and we want to make one,” said banjo picker and vocalist Eleanor Underhill. “But, we don’t want to make just any album; we want this to be the best Underhill Rose release! Through our fans’ donations, we will be able to record in a great space with a wonderful team.” The band has chosen Echo Mountain Recording Studio in Asheville, NC as the site to produce the new album.

The band has set a funding goal of $15,000. “Reaching this target will only happen if our fans donate and share our campaign with their own networks. The more they share, the more people have a chance to help us out,” said co-founder Molly Rose, singer and guitarist. “And keep in mind, the $15,000 goal must be met by the cut off at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. If we don’t raise that much money, Underhill Rose will not receive any of the donations and the money remains with the people who pledged. We need our fans now, more than ever.”

In addition to the new album campaign, Underhill Rose will be sharing a song from the upcoming release, “Something Real,” on UNC-TV’s NC Now at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14. The ladies take time to speak with host Erica Starke about past success and the future. The band traveled to the famed Woodwright’s Shop to record their performance.

“This past year was really big for us,” said Salley Williamson, upright bass player. “We have made so many big steps, and appearing on NC Now will let us share our story with the entire state.” The appearance will air on the same day the band takes the stage at Jack of the Wood in Asheville, NC for Kevn Kinney’s Acoustic Jam at the 24th Annual Warren Haynes Christmas Jam.
